Ethics And Objective Morality
In this blog I discuss the benefits of objective morality and ethics in a world that has fallen into hedonistic pleasure over the capacity to do just acts and proper distributions are things that....
In this blog, I am going to concern myself with a critical problem that we are all facing and that is acting morally consistent from an objective standpoint. As I am reading the theory of justice by John Rawls it’s become increasingly obvious to me that society has failed to teach the youth of today the moral law. The natural law is the law by which we distribute and act in a fair capacity that can bring the greatest good to the greatest number by having a general average of objective rules of moral code of behaviors that we can bind our behaviors to. The reality, is that unlimited self-interest that is not bound by any form of morality is amoral and degenerate in it’s nature. Self-interest without end is consumption without end and without concern with how we distribute goods. I have talked to numerous people and the amount of ignorance on ethical behavior is truly despicable. The lack of seriousness on the ethics of behavior seems to be something that we have not learned.
Do ethics and objective moral standards matter? The answer to this is yes and it is critical as a persons seeking to live their best possible life that you bind yourself to an unbreakable moral deontological code of rules that keeps your wealth, success and behaviors in a realm of proper behaviors. A rich person who is successful in all realms but fails on the realm of justice is a degenerate rich person who pursues his self-interest without end. Ethics and objective moral standards controls self-interest and binds it to assure that you don’t loose context of the big picture. The big picture and the small picture all matter at the same time. When we have the ability to act justly, fairly, impartially and through means of duty we transcend subjective feelings. Subjective feelings relativizes things that need a measurement of what is definitely good and definitely bad. We must have a framework of moral good in order to act justly to give everyone the opportunity to thrive such that we do not worship our ego but yet keep it in a healthy context.
The reality is that the united states suffers from perpetual immoral egomania of perpetual consumerism, hedonism, chronic degeneracy without a context to base actions to make sure everyone is well off and everyone has a just opportunity to actualize their given potential. In this context, we must have ego and self-interest but a general of the average of moral rules keeps our self-importance in check relative to the great cosmic whole of reality. By doing this gives us the ability to control, impulse, delusion, avoidable conflict and puts us in control of things that would otherwise corrupt us to inevitable evil ends. The issue that is that people are subjectivists who pursue their own emotions over the truth of right and wrong.
18-22 year olds suffer from naivety, amorality, degeneracy and an inability to understand the greater moral good that must transcend one-self. With all of my interactions with young people it is an epidemic of parents who have failed their kids on the most important question of the hour which is how we should treat others in a way that is proper, fair, just, considerate, impartial, unemotional, objective by which creates a sustainable mechanism of respect that benefits all parties. The reality is that conflict comes from when we impose are own subjective moralities on what another and to which we cannot agree on anything. The west has failed entirely on the moral front and adopted consumerism and buying meaningless things in order to justify profit without end and without concern for these distributions for the least well-off. An objective morale-work is not what guides most young people but a subjectivist moral framework that is entirely dependent on ones emotions rather than a fact-based reality. It is no surprise that these youth are incapable of thinking beyond themselves or really focusing on things beyond an immediate future.
The immediate future is the reality most people are stuck in precisely because it is difficult to project ourselves into realities far beyond the norm. The reality is that when we are motivated only purely by self-interest we pursue set actions that tend to only benefit us and we only focus on a *me based reality* rather than a distribution based reality. The reality is that for anyone person to seek an optimized life we must establish a definite set of rules of Right and wrong. Without a definite right and wrong we can all agree upon we begin to lack any real frame-work of decisions on any consistent value to act upon. Their must be some grounded value system that we can bind ourselves in order to ground the ills of bad of human nature and in doing so we arrive to an end of proper distributions. A place of proper distributions likely does not have a reality that has not crimes, serial killers or even perpetual drug dealers. No, obviously the objective is to not say that this does not exist but rather it will dramatically reduce such negatives. The reality is that when any individual has all their effective means met then they have all that they need in order to act appropriately. An objective moral reality, is one in which we have established set of axiomatic statements that can generally by agreed upon by the mass of society that ought to guide the conduct of everyone. Laws attempt to do this to do this to some degree but fail to encompass the law from the ethics and moral perspective of responsibility. Thus, the challenge lays before us: Can we operate in a degenerate world in a capacity that transcend petty egoism, blind self-interest and focuses on greater actions that move beyond the immaturity of what’s in it for me? I believe the answer yes and it’s actually not quite that difficult to applicate in practice.
For you the reader, I challenge you to look beyond your own self-interest and look for a greater ethical purpose that abides by either the natural law or God’s law. Without an ethical order, humans degenerate to meaningless laziness, self-interest and blind egomania that must be restrained lest we worship ourselves. So what is my prescription? Simple, we build ourselves to a moral framework that is based on duty, integrity, honor, order, dependability, motivation from commitment than motivation from feelings, impartiality, focus on justice than focus on revenge. Fairness through the means of actions and following the validation of the moral code independent of outcomes and divorcing ourselves from results that depend on what is in it for us to focus on self-collective of the greatest whole for the greatest number. Building a philosophy and moral ethic that prioritizes an ethical framework and rejection of hedonism is the only mechanism I believe that can allow you to optimize your life consistently and sustainably without being corrupted by success.
Success is good. Success and things are fantastic but without the right values of conscience and ethics we will ultimately become slaves to the very success and to the grind we have worked to so hard to acquire. We will focus less on doing what is right and focus more what is in our benefit rather than the distribution of the many. The reality of all self-improvement and all extreme ends is you don’t matter. Let me repeat this, you do not matter in the grand scheme of this reality we call life. Ego and blind worship of ourselves without a code of ethics is what leads to suffering, failure and destruction of the self. You will pursue your goals and objectives and attain all your success and more. You may even consider yourself the most capable and most well achieved individual but you will always hold the frame of reference that you don’t matter. In that moment, you have the ability to be able to divorce yourself from all results. You can divorce yourself from the things that bother you and let go of what is in it for you and then you can act congruently towards the greater community’s welfare aka the public good. We self-improve and act on a good ethical more consideration not just to benefit ourselves but so other individuals can model us and follow our prescription by which we all live the moral life to it’s highest capacities which by extension leads to collaborative competition. In doing so, you do a form of self-improvement that is more powerful than any individual and you extend it to a higher network of self-improvement which yields us to an altruistic reality that allows for sustainable contentment rather than a meaningless feeling of happiness. Contentness is sustained satisfaction over a period of time while happiness is fleeting field that leaves you.
An objective moral framework is one that is the general of the average of social consensus. You should write down what you believe is closest to this virtuoso ethic and in doing so you will be abiding by a moral ethical that is far superior to anyone’s delusional blind self-interest. Self-interest without end without limits is ultimately a life of suffering, destruction and comital offenses to others without considerations to others. Thus, as your day goes by and you make your self-important plans, have you considered a greater valuation system that surpasses your goals? Ask yourself are you living a conduct of ethics and behaviors that benefit the greatest number without expectation of return? Do you conduct yourself to virtues that assures you are not corrupted by the very optimization of success. The true goal of wealth of success is to not be owned by success and to conduct oneself consistently in all circumstances, irrespective of what your meaningless emotionality tells you. Focus on justice, focus on the conduct of an ethical framework that benefits all individuals. Morals and ethics is only something that humans are capable of and it seems it is something we have increasingly neglected in a secularist world. By abidding by the moral law you will find yourself an exception to the rule to average bears of the world to a world that is unrecognizable.

Do you believe their is an objective moral ethics? Is it contingent to living an optimized dream life?
